After a pause of more than two years in the export of yellow fever vaccines, Brazil has resumed its installed capacity, by means of Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), to meet 100% of the national demand as well as to sell to other countries. The growth of unemployment associated with the reduction of public investments in health and social programs increased the mortality rate among adults in Brazil in the period of 2012 to 2017. In a study coordinated by the Institute of Scientific and Technological Communication and Information in Health (Icict), Fiocruz has mapped the impact of fires on children’s health in the Amazon region. The search for malaria elimination is based on a combination of measures to treat patients and prevent the transmission of the disease. New research points out that a molecule investigated for cancer treatment may contribute to achieve this goal.
